Development progress for The Ultimate Survival Game

TUSG.io 1.1.0: Daily Rewards, Bank Bonus & Vendor Filters

Version 1.1.0 of TUSG.io is live, and this one pays you to play: our free browser survival IO game now has daily rewards, a welcome bonus at the bank, and a leaderboard that finally shows where you stand.

Daily rewards are here

Earn 1,000 XP in a day and the game hands you a bonus on the spot: +500 GP, +2,000 XP and +50 silver. The golden badge on your HUD tracks progress — click it for the details panel. One reward per day, it resets at midnight, and guests earn it too, no account needed.

100 GP on your first bank visit

Touch any bank for the first time and 100 GP lands straight in your vault — safe from death and ready to spend at the Vendor. If you have never banked before, that is your starter fund; the beginner’s guide explains why banking often is rule one.

The leaderboard sees you now

Outside the top 10? The Arcadia leaderboard now pins your own rank to the bottom of the board. #37 and climbing beats invisible.

Straight into the action

The pre-game tutorial slideshow is gone — new players spawn directly into Arcadia and learn by doing, one bite-size task at a time. The death screen now shows exactly how far you are from your next Learning Point, and reminds you that XP, skills and banked gold all survive death.

Vendor category filters

The bank Vendor grew filter tabs — Ores, Plants, Liquids, Explosives, Potions & Food — so restocking for a fight takes seconds instead of scrolling.

TUSG.io 1.0.9: Game Wiki, Arcadia Wildlife & Virus Popping

Version 1.0.9 of TUSG.io is live, and it is a big one for anyone who has ever died wondering what that skill actually does: our free browser survival IO game now ships with a full game wiki, generated straight from the live game data. On top of that, the Arcadia hub finally has something to hunt, and the virus that chases you across the map can now be fought back. Here is everything that changed.

The TUSG.io Wiki is live

The biggest addition in 1.0.9 is the TUSG.io Wiki — a complete, always-current reference for the whole game. It is rendered from the same data the servers run on, so every cooldown, drop chance and stat you read there matches the build you are playing, automatically, after every update.

Start with the beginner’s guide if you are new — it covers your first life, the opening skill build, and how not to donate your mass to the first player who looks at you. From there, dig into:

Found something missing or wrong? Tell us on the forum — the wiki regenerates with every deploy, so fixes ship fast.

Arcadia has wildlife now

The center spawn, Arcadia, used to be a quiet hub: safe, calm, and — let’s be honest — a little empty. In 1.0.9, passive slimes roam the fields just outside the safe zone. They are level-1 critters that mind their own business: they will never start a fight with a small cell, so new players can explore without being jumped two seconds after spawning.

They are, however, fair game. Hunting them is the fastest first XP in the game and they drop food and the occasional bit of loot — a proper warm-up before you head for the outer rings where the real dangers live. Just know that slimes remember: hit one and it will absolutely fight back.

Chaser viruses can be shot down

You know the chaser virus — the spiky one that locks on and follows you across half the map at the worst possible moment. As of 1.0.9 it is no longer invincible: hit it five times, with ejected mass or any projectile skill, and it pops.

Popping one rewards you exactly like eating one does, including the chance at rare reagent drops. Running away is still a strategy; turning around and unloading into the thing chasing you is now a better one.

Easier to find, easier to share

A round of site work shipped alongside the game changes: links to TUSG.io now unfurl with a proper preview card on X, Discord and everywhere else, the homepage tells search engines (and humans with JavaScript off) what the game actually is, and the forum has fresh discussion topics waiting for your hot takes. You can follow every update from the news page, this dev blog, or by RSS at /feed.xml.

What’s next

The wiki is a foundation — expect it to grow alongside the game, and expect the outer rings to get more distinct personalities in upcoming updates. Until then: jump into the arena, hunt a slime for us, and go pop a chaser virus. TUSG.io is free, runs in your browser with no download, and version 1.0.9 is waiting.

Dev Update July 2026: Guided Tutorial, Mobile Controls & Referral Rewards

The last three weeks brought some of the biggest quality-of-life upgrades TUSG.io has had since launch: a guided tutorial for new players, smoother mobile controls, a consumable hotbar, referral rewards that pay Silver for inviting friends, and limited-time XP campaigns. Here is everything that changed in our free browser survival IO game — and what is coming next.

A guided tutorial that teaches by doing

New players used to get a slideshow and a "good luck." Now the game walks you through your first life one small task at a time — on-screen arrows point you to your first food, your first bank, your first fight, and highlighted buttons show you exactly which key does what. It advances from easy to hard, remembers your progress between sessions, and veterans can switch it off from the settings gear at any time.

Better mobile controls

A run of updates focused on playing TUSG.io on your phone: touch controls got a full pass, gestures on the game surface no longer fight the browser, and the layout adapts properly to smaller screens. If you tried mobile before and bounced, it is worth another look — same arena, same players, no app install.

Consumable hotbar

Consumables now live on a dedicated hotbar bound to keys 1–6, sitting right above your skill HUD. No more digging through your inventory mid-fight to pop the item that saves your run.

Earn Silver by inviting friends

Every player now has a personal referral link with one-tap share buttons. When someone joins through your link, registers, and actually plays, you earn Silver — paid out automatically when they hit the play milestone. One link covers both "invite a friend" and "post it anywhere you like," and rewards are driven by real new players, not clicks.

Limited-time XP campaigns

We also introduced campaigns: timed events where reaching an XP threshold before the clock runs out pays a Silver rewar

TUSG.io Update 0.1.7

Here's what's new in the latest patch.

Free Starter Skills

Every player now starts with three skills unlocked at level 1 — no grinding required:

  • Run — bound to <kbd>Q</kbd>
  • Single Shot — bound to <kbd>E</kbd>
  • Mass Eject — bound to <kbd>A</kbd>

Mass Eject Rework

Mass Eject is more reliable and rewarding now. It needs at least 100 mass to fire and always launches a meaningful shot (10%+ of your mass). A charge that's too short or a cell that's too small no longer wastes your cooldown — you get a quick hint instead.

Mobile UI

Optimized dialogs and UI in general for mobile.

Bug Fixes

  • Opening the inventory right after Play Again no longer freezes your cell.

Jump back in and try it out.

Release notes 0.1.3

This update for TUSG.io focuses on smoother maintenance and clearer in-game communication. Here's what changed in this version:

  • Scheduled maintenance countdown. When a server shutdown is planned, every player now sees a live one-hour countdown in-game, so no one is caught off guard.
  • Maintenance page. While the server is down, visitors get a clean maintenance screen instead of a broken page or connection error.
  • Rich-text news and dev blog. News and dev blog posts now support formatted HTML, with safe rendering across the site, the in-game news panel, and the post dialog.
  • Stability and security. Hardened how posts are displayed to keep the game fast and safe.
